The Lord has blessed me with a passion for early childhood education, focusing primarily on preschoolers.  My own children are now in their twenties, and my husband and I are enjoying life as empty nesters.  Fellowshipping with family and friends, spending time with my grandchildren, and going on long walks are some of my favorite activities.

I grew up in Fullerton, California, and earned my Bachelor’s degree at CSU Fullerton in Child and Adolescent Development. I have completed 20 hours of STARS (continuing education) credits, am First-Aid and CPR certified, and previously taught first grade at Bel-Red Bilingual Academy in Bellevue. When I am not teaching I enjoy hiking, riding a bike (I don’t have one yet), cooking, shopping, and lately, a little dancing!

One of my core beliefs is that education is not simply preparation for life, but rather a life-long journey itself. The early years of a child’s life are essential for laying a solid foundation upon which to build a strong mind and honest heart.  I am excited to be joining Eastside Christian School as the new 4’s pre-K teacher!

I graduated from Seattle University with two degrees, a BA in Theology and Religious Studies and a BA in Humanities.  I have loved working with children of all ages my entire life in a variety of capacities, including coaching, teaching, and volunteering.  After working in non-profit fundraising, I took time off to stay at home with my three children Declan (10), Rory (8), and Cecilia (6).

Having grown up in Montana, I have a deep appreciation for nature and love animals and the outdoors!  I see God in the diversity of life in the world and love sharing that with others. As a family, we enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, camping, kayaking, stargazing, and beachcombing.

I moved to Bellevue in August 2013 from Southern California. My husband, two daughters, and I attend the Community Church of Seattle. I’ve taught little children at my church since I was in college and also taught three years in an elementary school. I am very blessed to be called to be here at Eastside Christian School. My favorite activities are fellowshipping with my church friends, hiking with my family, and doing art with my children.

I am excited and honored to join the ECS team! My love for teaching little ones began in Bellevue more than 25 years ago, and I have served in children’s ministry ever since!  I have enjoyed teaching Sunday school, leading VBS, homeschooling my children, serving as a children’s ministry director, teaching preschool and kindergarten, and most recently serving as a preschool director. I’ve been married to Steven for 25 years, and we are blessed with three grown children and one in middle school. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy hiking with my family (including my chocolate lab), gardening, watching my boys play soccer, drinking coffee, and reading historical fiction.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we moved to Washington two summers ago from Coral Springs, Florida. I have been teaching for nine years, and my favorite part of each and every school day is teaching my students about Jesus and His Word. I am so excited to be part of the Eastside Christian School family and to settle in here in Washington. When I am not teaching, I love to workout, be outside, do Zumba, read, and spend quality time with family and friends.
