Electronic devices, including music players and handheld video games, are prohibited at school unless authorized by a teacher for educational purposes. If permitted, devices must be turned off and stored in lockers or backpacks while on campus. Laptops, iPads, or tablets are allowed only for school-related activities.

Cell phones must be turned off and kept out of sight during school hours (8:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.), with no texting allowed. This policy enhances focus, promotes social skills, reduces stress, upholds academic integrity, and ensures safety.

Preschool

Preschool 3’s classes:  has a ratio of 1 teacher for every 7 students (with one teacher and one aide for each classroom)
Pre-K 4’s and 5’s classes:  have a ratio of 1 teacher for every 8 students (with one teacher and one aide for each classroom)

Kindergarten through Fifth grade (2 classes per grade)

Kindergarten – First grade:  13-20 students per class (one teacher plus one aide)
Second– Fifth grades: 13-20 students per class (one teacher)

Middle School: (1 class per grade)

Sixth – Eighth: 18-22 students per class (one teacher)

Small Class Size

While you are not able to request a particular teacher for your child, your input is welcome regarding the teacher personality and instructional style that would best help your child grow academically, socially, and spiritually. In late spring, a Student Placement Request will be made available to parents via our school’s FACTS Family Portal and the ECS office. Parents may use this form to communicate their child’s learning style, personality preferences, and friend requests.  ECS staff will meet to discuss each child’s needs and will work hard to place students with the teachers and classmates who best fit the student’s personality and learning style.

ECS typically starts in September on the day after Labor Day, but occasionally begins the last week of August.  Check our calendar for specific information.

What does Eastside Christian School tuition cover, and how can I compare it to other schools?

We want every family to feel confident and informed about tuition at Eastside Christian School. Our tuition and fees are straightforward and include:

• One application fee for first-time applicants
• One annual enrollment fee per family
• One annual activity fee per student
• Grade-dependent tuition per student

We also offer discounts for multi-child families, military service, pastoral staff, and school employees.

When comparing schools, it’s helpful to look beyond the published tuition amount. Schools may structure tuition, fees, and discounts differently, so comparing the total cost of attendance provides a more accurate picture.
