I graduated with specializations in Family Studies, Latin American Studies, Teaching English as a Second Language, and Spanish, and I recently earned my M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction. I enjoy the arts and love bringing them into the classroom.

I love music, art, hiking, beaches, and prayer. I have known ECS as a staff and parent for 10-plus years. My daughter has attended ECS since pre-K, and I have witnessed the influence of Christian education firsthand. My favorite part of being a kindergarten teacher is teaching them all they really need to know in life (Robert Fulghum) and eavesdropping on the funniest things that they say.

My hobbies include hiking, walking my tawny lab Angel, and gardening. I love children and am passionate about teaching. Two of my own children have become teachers, one at the high school level and the other at middle school. I made a decision at a young age to ask Jesus into my life. My relationship with Christ has grown through the years. He is the source of my strength and the reason I live. Sharing my faith journey with the children at our school is what God has called me to do. It is my desire to be able to influence children to love, serve and follow Jesus.

I am so excited to be on staff at ECS. I am originally from Eastern Oregon. Growing up I attended a small non-denominational church with my family. I accepted the Lord as my Savior when I was 12. I have walked with the Lord since then. After attending college at Oregon State University, I moved to the Seattle area with my husband, James, in 1987. We are currently members of St. Barbara Catholic Church in Black Diamond. We have two grown children and a grandson. For over 20 years, I have been involved in Christian education as a parent, teacher and administrator. My children attended Christian school from preschool through 12th grade. I have taught preschool through 6th grade. I served as a preschool director and elementary principal for five years. My favorite part of teaching is watching the students grow and learn new things. Their excitement when they discover a new concept brings joy to my heart. It gives me a small glimpse at how the Lord must feel when we as Christians accomplish His works.

All three of my children attended Christian school during parts of their education. Our family moved from California to Washington five years ago when my husband was called as a pastor to Crossroads Bible Church. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, home decorating, spending time with friends, serving in my church, and showing hospitality in my home.

I am so blessed to be at ECS. After working here as an aide, I knew this was where the Lord was leading me to teach. I received my BA in Language Arts and Elementary Education from SPU and taught all-day Kindergarten/pre-first for 4.5 years. For 14+ years I worked as an educational consultant to homeschooling families with children ranging from preschool through 6th. This experience gave me a great appreciation for parents and their desire to come alongside their children’s education. I have an amazing husband and two awesome grown children and am excited to share my love of learning and my love for the Lord with the students at ECS. My favorite activities include scrapbooking, boating, and doing just about anything with my family.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, went to school at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and taught kindergarten for a year in State College, PA, before moving to Seattle and marrying my high school sweetheart. Both of my grandfathers were pastors, so I was raised to love and worship Jesus all throughout my life. In the classroom, I love helping my students to learn and grow both academically and spiritually. Outside of the classroom, I like watching football, spending time with family, and skiing. I’m very excited to contribute to ECS and look forward to the years to come.

I grew up in Long Beach, California, and studied Intercultural Studies, Education, and Bible at Biola University. After college, I moved from the central coast of California to Washington. I have taught at a variety of places, from a small Christian co-op to a 1000+ student public school, as well as on the decks of tall ships! My favorite thing about teaching is to see students grow and to understand how God is involved in all aspects of life. No amount of knowledge could ever quench my wonder of who He is! Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, reading, feeding people, writing letters, and creating things.

I was born and raised in Northwest Minnesota and then moved to Oregon for middle and high school. I went back to the midwest and graduated from University of Northwestern, St. Paul. I found a teaching job in Oregon from a career fair in Minnesota and taught for 2 years in Tillamook. My husband got a job in downtown Seattle, which brings me to Eastside! After teaching for 2 years in a public school setting, I am so excited to be able to interact with students in a way that encourages them to pursue Christ and look to Him for guidance. Outside of the classroom, you can find my husband and I outdoors, exploring our new home or drinking a good cup of coffee.

Born and raised in Hawaii, I left my island home to attend the University of Washington. After graduating in 2012 with a Master in Teaching, I taught for two years at South Shore PreK-8. While teaching at South Shore PreK-8 was a huge blessing, there are many reasons why I love teaching at ECS. What I’m most excited about is helping students grow spiritually and academically. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my new daughter and my wife, and also serving on our church’s worship team as a drummer.
