At age 11 while being raised as a native Western Washingtonian, I gave my life to Christ in a vacation Bible school program. Slowly, through the years, my family (who taught me a love of nature, music, and art) all came to know the Lord. My husband and I attended a small Christian college in Northwest Iowa. Soon after we graduated, I began teaching elementary school in a Christian school setting (Kindergarten, 2nd, 5th, mostly 3rd). Then, in January 2020, I felt called by God to discontinue a brief retirement to serve at ECS in 4th grade. God created me as a teacher to the core and it has been my honor to serve God’s children, their families, and a wonderful staff here at ECS. Even during the season of covid, I have continued to feel called and have enjoyed the uniqueness of each child, witnessing their discoveries and growth. Both of my grown children live in West Seattle and attended Christian schools. My son and his wife are parents to our two grandchildren: Callan 3 and Una 8 months. Besides the joy of visiting our family, my husband and I enjoy walks, live music, reading, and travel. We are blessed to attend University Presbyterian Church in Seattle.
