Open Positions for 2026-27

The School Operations and Curriculum Coordinator supports the Principal in providing leadership, supervision, and administration of the school’s instructional program and daily operations. This role helps foster a positive school culture, supports teachers in delivering high-quality instruction, promotes student success, and strengthens communication with families and the school community.

Instructional Leadership

  • Support the implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices aligned with school goals
  • Help monitor student academic progress and collaborate with teachers to improve instructional practices
  • Support staff meetings, professional development, and school initiatives including accreditation

Staff Support and Collaboration

  • Partner with teachers and staff to foster collaboration and professional learning
  • Supervise student activities, recess, arrival, and dismissal as needed
  • Assist in coordinating substitute teachers and supporting staff coverage when needed

Family and Community Engagement

  • Maintain positive communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and school initiatives
  • Support family engagement events and activities that strengthen school-community relationships
  • Represent the school in meetings with families, staff, and community partners as needed
  • Manage staff absence and sub requests
  • Assist with updating handbooks, staff and student forms, etc
  • Send community information on behalf of the principal

Student and Staff Support:

  • Work closely with Office Coordinator of Communication and Support and Office Coordinator of Finance and Logistics
  • Assist new employees with needed paperwork
  • Assist with onboarding new staff (Renweb training, new staff manual, etc)
  • Manage school platforms (RenWeb, Renaissance, IXL, etc.)
  • Field trip forms and bus transportation scheduling
  • Assist substitutes as needed (ensures subs have lesson plans, key, schedule, etc)

Registrar and RenWeb Management:

  • Create and update classes on RenWeb
  • Manage grade reporting
  • Update staff and family information on RenWeb
  • Manage outgoing record and transcript requests
  • Set up RenWeb access for students and staff
  • Support RenWeb use for teachers and staff, families and students
  • Raptor roster management via Renweb

Other:

  • Eagle Challenge tracking and coordinating of events (STEAM FAIR, Pumpkin Race, Egg Drop, etc)
  • Support PTF, attend monthly PTF meetings, assist event chairs for PTF events
  • Sunshine committee, serve on the sunshine committee and support staff events
  • Provide teachers with field trip and special event permission forms
  • Coordinate bus rental use for field trips
  • Coordinate staff breakfasts/lunches for trainings and special events
  • Manage STARS reporting and data collection
  • Cover front office as needed
  • Cover for campus tours if Director of Admissions is out on vacation

School Events:

  • Assist with Curriculum Night
  • Coordinate Pumpkin Race
  • Coordinate Staff Christmas Party

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Teaching certificate preferred
  • Successful teaching experience at the elementary/middle school level

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with curriculum development and the accreditation process
  • Knowledge of student assessment and data-driven instruction
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced school environment

We are seeking a passionate Elementary Teacher who is a strong follower of Jesus Christ. The Elementary Teacher provides engaging, developmentally appropriate technology instruction for students in a K-5 classroom. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong instructional practices and proficiency with Microsoft products and educational technology tools.

Essential Functions of This Position

  • Demonstrate your strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through your words and actions with students, staff, and community
  • Assess student needs and provide appropriate learning environment to meet each student’s needs
  • Promote a caring, loving, and safe learning environment, including maintaining order in the classroom through clear routines and procedures
  • Continue to improve classroom methods and instruction through professional development and professional reading/research
  • Use technology to provide challenging instruction to students at all learning levels
  • Active engagement and participation as a team member of our tight-knit community
  • Follow the adopted curriculum, attend staff meetings and other professional meetings as may be assigned by principal

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Valid Teaching Certification
  • Successful teaching experience teaching with elementary school students.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft products, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

The Role
We seek a passionate, dedicated Middle School English Teacher who is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. This role is an opportunity to inspire 6th-8th graders to love literature, writing, and critical thinking while deepening their faith through learning. Essential Functions

  • Inspire Through Faith and Learning: Guide students to see English as a lens for understanding God’s world, connecting literature and writing to their spiritual growth.
  • Teach Engaging Lessons: Deliver five class sections (typically four core English classes and one elective) using ECS’s approved curriculum, blending best practices with creative approaches to foster skills in reading, writing, and analysis.
  • Personalize Instruction: Use varied assessments to meet diverse student needs, ensuring every learner thrives academically and personally.
  • Foster a Safe, Loving Classroom: Maintain order through clear routines and create a welcoming environment where students feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborate and Grow: Partner with parents, caregivers, and colleagues to support student success. Attend staff meetings and pursue professional growth through workshops, conferences, or relevant research.
  • Leverage Technology: Integrate digital tools wisely to enhance instruction and engage students at all levels.
  • Contribute to Community: Participate in school projects, events, and initiatives, embodying ECS’s mission as an active team member.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid WA State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements (or certification from another state with active progress toward WA certification).
  • Proven experience teaching middle school students, ideally in a Christian or independent school setting.
  • Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ, reflected in words and actions.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification (training provided if needed).
  • Clearance from Criminal Justice fingerprint/background check.

The Preschool Roving Aide provides flexible support across the preschool program by assisting teachers and supervising students during lunch, recess, enrichment periods, and staff breaks. This role helps maintain a safe, caring, and engaging environment for preschool students while ensuring smooth classroom transitions and daily operations. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with preschool PE or other scheduled coverage assignments.

This is a part-time, hourly position that generally follows the ECS school calendar.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom coverage during preschool staff lunch and break times
  • Supervise students during recess, lunch, transitions, and other activities
  • Assist preschool teachers with classroom routines, organization, and student support
  • Lead or assist with PE classes and movement activities for multiple preschool classes
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, orderly, and Christ-centered environment
  • Support positive student behavior using age-appropriate classroom management techniques
  • Assist students with daily routines as needed (including restroom, snack, and cleanup)
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with staff, students, and families
  • Follow all ECS safety procedures and preschool licensing requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Preschool Director or Administration

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively with young children in a nurturing and patient manner
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and adapt to changing classroom needs and schedules
  • Knowledge and practice of positive behavior management techniques, or willingness to learn
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to supervise children attentively in indoor and outdoor settings
  • Ability to safely use basic classroom and office equipment

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; AA degree, CDA, or coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred
  • Experience working with preschool or elementary-aged children preferred
  • Valid/current First Aid and CPR certification required (training reimbursed by ECS)
  • Completion of required DCYF background check, 30-hour STARS Basic Training, and current tuberculosis test prior to employment (fees/training reimbursed as applicable)
  • Ability to lift, move, and assist children and classroom materials as needed
  • Genuine love for children and a desire to support their growth and development

Spiritual Qualifications

All Eastside Christian School staff members must have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and demonstrate a growing relationship with Him through daily life and conduct. Staff members are expected to:

  • Be regular attendees or members in good standing of a Bible-believing church

Schedule

Part-time; schedule may include morning and midday coverage hours during the school week. Specific hours to be determined based on preschool staffing needs and coverage schedules.
