MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH TEACHER

Eastside Christian School (ECS) in Bellevue is seeking a 6th-8th grade Math Teacher.

Spiritual State: All ECS Staff must have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  You are a person of spiritual maturity who is seen as a leader and a role model and who is able to articulate the precepts of the Christian faith clearly and effectively.

Work Year: 190 Days (plus 11 paid holidays)

  • 180 instructional days
  • 10 non-instructional days

Basic Work Day: 8:00AM-3:45PM

Some of the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to be Successful in this Position:

  • Model Christ in all
  • Equip students to learn subject matter, skills, and attitudes that will contribute to their development as mature, able, responsible Christian men and women
  • Teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2
  • Instruct using effective (best practice) instructional techniques
  • Communicate clearly, including in written and oral form
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff and administration
  • Design and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of all students
  • Lead using effective behavior/classroom management techniques
  • Practice rules and procedures for student safety
  • Evaluate and record student progress and prepare report cards
  • Attend daily staff devotions and commit to continue to grow as a Christian
  • Attend/participate in all required staff meetings and other activities deemed necessary by the Principal
  • Possess basic technology proficiency including MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
  • Valid/Current Teaching Certificate

Compensation:

  • Salary is based upon a combination of years of experience, years of education, and other criteria which are all applied to the current salary matrix.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS

Eastside Christian School (ECS) in Bellevue is seeking certified substitute teachers. Certification can be from Washington state or out-of-state.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE:

$17/hour. Substitute teachers are on-call, given as much notice as possible (sometimes weeks, sometimes days, sometimes the morning of). ECS works around your schedule; if you have to pass on an opportunity, no worries! We’ll call you for another position at another time.

WORK HOURS:

8:35 a.m.-3:25pm (7.5 hours per day inclusive of lunch)

ECS is a highly academic and highly spiritual school that is dedicated to “Educating Children in the Christ-Inspired, Joyful Pursuit of Excellence.” Located just north of Bellevue College, ECS serves approximately 320 Preschool through 8th grade students. ECS is an independent Christian school and member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

-Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
-Valid/Current WA (or other) State Teaching Certificate

SUBSTITUTE AIDES

Preschool, Elementary, or Middle School

Eastside Christian School is a private Christian school dedicated to “Educating Children in the Christ-Inspired, Joyful Pursuit of Excellence.” Located in the Eastgate area of Bellevue, ECS serves over 300 Preschool through 8th grade students.

Job Description: We are looking for part-time substitute aides for all of our programs. You would be assisting the Lead Teacher. The hours are between (but not necessarily inclusive of) 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, as needed Monday through Friday. You may also utilize our before and after care program for your children on the days that you are working for ECS.

Minimum Requirements completed before employment begins:

  • Valid/Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Background check
  • An up-to-date Tuberculosis skin test
  • Preferred: AA degree in Education or a related field such as Child Development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and practice of effective behavior/classroom management techniques
  • Develop, follow and practice rules and procedures for student safety as described in the WAC (http://apps.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=180)
  • Knowledge and practice of effective communication with students, parents, staff and administration
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff and administration
  • Ability to safely use basic office machinery/equipment, or ability to learn
  • Ability to comfortably learn our child sign-in software on a laptop or desktop computer
  • Ability and commitment to work with students in a Christ-honoring manner
  • Ability to administer First Aid and CPR if necessary
