Classroom Teacher

The role of classroom teacher at Eastside Christian School is central to shaping the minds and hearts of students. This influence is rooted in a personal relationship with Christ and includes a commitment to providing a Christ-centered education, fostering positive and nurturing relationships, and creating an engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and respected.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate and communicate with families, teachers, and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
• Integrate biblical principles and Christian values into daily instruction.
• Provide programming and instruction that meets the needs of individual learners.
• Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior.
• Develop, follow, and practice rules and procedures for student safety.

Dean of Spiritual Life

The Dean of Spiritual Life at Eastside Christian School (ECS) shapes the spiritual environment within the school community. Responsibilities include leading chapel services, coordinating character recognitions, and providing guidance on school/church partnerships. The Dean also oversees Bible curriculum, mentors staff, and fosters a culture of spiritual growth and service.

Spiritual Vision and Leadership
• Leads in setting spiritual focus for faculty, staff, and broader community
• Leads Spiritual Life Committee
• Coordinates Bible curriculum across grades
• Stays current on issues relevant to faith and culture
• Coordinates parent prayer groups
• Leads in promoting a culture of service and generosity among staff, students and families

Community Engagement
• Provides input and guidance regarding school/church partnerships
• Coordinates 8th grade graduation
• Coordinates and oversees mission trips and service learning

Spiritual Development and Support
• Organizes, coordinates, and leads faculty devotions
• Organizes and leads chapel services, chapel setup, and spiritual activities (1st Day Prayer, Faith Week, Good Friday, MS Retreat, etc.)
• Creates and implements character recognitions in conjunction with chapel program
• Counsels students as needed and assists the principal with student spiritual growth, disciplinary, academic, or SEL concerns
• Meets with teachers to support biblical integration across curriculum
• Teaches middle school Bible class/es
• Assists and supports 8th grade students and families with high school transition, including the development of personal mission statements
• Leads and trains the ACTS Leadership Team
• Teaches middle school elective classes as needed
• Leads student discipleship and middle school devotions
• Assists principal in organizing school activities and attends these functions
• Other duties as needed/assigned

Physical Education Teacher

Eastside Christian School recognizes the inherent value of holistic well-being as an integral part of God’s design for each individual. K-8 Technology Teacher

In a world in which technology is both an asset and a potential hindrance to learning, the technology teacher at Eastside Christian School seeks to inspire students to use these tools and resources as responsible digital citizens and followers of Christ.

Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and respected.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate and communicate with families, teachers, and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
• Integrate biblical principles and Christian values into daily instruction.
• Deliver technology education in grades K-8 through a sequential curriculum map.
• Maintain and incorporate updated information regarding digital tools, uses, and findings.
• Support the integration of digital programs and learning connected to classroom content.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior.
• Develop, follow, and practice rules and procedures for student safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Experience teaching technology-related subjects
• Proficiency in educational technology tools and software

Preschool Aide

Description
We are looking for part-time and substitute Preschool Aides to assist our Lead Teachers, for our Half-Day and Full-Day Preschool program. Contact us for information as to the days and hours, as we have a variety of options. We offer a tuition discount for staff descendants to attend our school and you may also utilize our aftercare program at no charge on the days that you are working for ECS.

Requirements (to be completed before employment begins)
• Valid/Current First Aid and CPR Certification (training reimbursed by ECS)
• DEL (Department of Early Learning) background check (fees reimbursed by ECS)
• 30 hour STARS Basic Training Class (training reimbursed by ECS)
• An up-to-date Tuberculosis skin test (fees reimbursed by ECS)
• Preferred: AA degree in Early Education, CDA, or a related field such as Child Development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge and practice of effective behavior/classroom management techniques
• Develop, follow and practice rules and procedures for student safety as described in the WAC
• Knowledge and practice of effective communication with students, parents, and staff
• Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff and administration
• Ability to safely use basic office machinery/equipment, or ability to learn
• Ability to comfortably learn our child sign-in software on a laptop or desktop computer
• Ability and commitment to work with students in a Christ-honoring manner
• Ability to administer First Aid and CPR if necessary

Spiritual State
All Eastside Christian Staff must have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He or she will be a regular attendee or member in good standing of a Bible-believing church and shall lead a life that portrays a believer in Christ, walking in the Spirit in response to God. He or she shall be a person of spiritual maturity who is seen as a leader and a role model, and who is able to articulate the precepts of the Christian faith clearly and effectively. Ephesians 5:1-21 provides an excellent guideline for behavior for Christians.

Salary: $21.00 /hour
